May 12th, 2012

Tonights races for May 12th have been canceled due to incoming weather later this evening. Winchester Speedway wiill return to racing action, next Saturday May 19th, 2012 with a Full Regular Race Program.

April 29th, 2012

Winchester Speedway will be CLOSED on Saturday May 5th, 2012 for the Annual Dogwood Festival held in Winchester, TN. Racing will return on Saturday May 12th, 2012 with a Full Regular Racing Program

We want to apologize for the rough track conditions this past Saturday night. We are currently working to fix the track and get it back to the racing surface we’ve had.

There will be a free test session this Thursday April 26th, 2012 from 5-8pm. Everyone is welcome, there will be no charge for admission or testing. Come on out this Thursday April 26 from 5-8pm & get your cars tuned in.

This Saturday night April 7th, 2012 Winchester Speedway will be running a Full Regular Race Program including a live performance by Tennessee’s own Big Smo-“The Kountry Boy” Big Smo and a crew will be on the grounds filming a video for his hit song “Drive Fast”. Big Smo a well know artist from Shelbyville Tn. and through out the south has produced hits like:  “Honky Tonkin” “Kickin It in Tennessee”, “My Life in a Jar” and “Kick Mud”.  Winchester Speedway is set to begin its regular season schedule of events this weekend Saturday March 31, 2012. Beginning on Thursday March 29, 2012 an open practice session will be at the speedway from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Saturday March 31st, 2012 Winchester Speedway will kick off its regular scheduled events with a full racing program with all classes racing for Double Points that include: Super Late Models, 2 Barrel Late Models, Modified Stocks, Outlaw Pony, and Mini Stocks. Super Late models and 2 Barrel late models will qualify; all other classes will run heat races and then features. Winchester Speedway is proud to announce its 2012 season schedule. There will be two practice sessions prior to the kick off of the regular schedule of events. See the 2012 Schedule Here. The first practice will be held on March 10, 2012 from 4 pm to 8 pm, the second practice will be on March 29, 2012 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Then on Saturday March 31st, 2012 Winchester Speedway will kick off its regular scheduled events with a full racing program with all classes racing for Double Points that include: Super Late Models, 2 Barrel Late Models, Modified Stocks, Outlaw Pony, and Mini Stocks.  Gates will open at 3 pm and drivers meeting will be at 6 pm.

The 2012 schedule features plenty of regular scheduled, full racing programs from March to September. There is a special event scheduled for the Super Late Models on September 1, 2012 featuring a $3000 to-win 40 lap event. More special events will be added to the schedule throughout the season with an advance 30 day notice of the event. The Speedway will be closed on May 5th, 2012 for the city of Winchester’s  Annual Dog Wood Festival. The rest of the season at Winchester Speedway will be filled with plenty of racing action, so stay tuned to the website and our Facebook page for announcements and things happening at Winchester Speedway.

Winchester Speedway would like to say THANK YOU to all the fans and competitors for making the annual Winterfest event a success. We appreciate everyone for coming out and supporting Winchester Speedway this past Saturday and hope everyone enjoyed the racing, as much as we did and seeing you all at the speedway. We look forward to the 2012 season and next year’s Annual Winterfest event.

Winchester Speedway in Winchester, TN is set to host its annual WINTERFEST event on February 25, 2012, featuring a $3000 to-win 40 lap super late race, along with all divisions racing to kick off the 2012 race season in the mid-state.

Every year around the end of February, racers and fans mark their calendars for the start of the dirt track racing season in middle Tennessee for Winchester Speedway’s Annual WINTERFEST event, held in Winchester, TN. This year is no different, as teams and fans are buzzing about the fast approaching date of February 25th. Race teams are ready to hit the track with their new cars and fans are ready to see some live racing action, after cabin fever has set in from being cooped up in the house over the last couple months of the race season break.

Events at Winchester Speedway are set to kick off on Friday February 24, 2012 with an open practice. Gates will open at 3 pm and practice will begin at 4 pm and go to 8 pm. Admission for practice is $10 for general admission and $15 for pit admission. On Saturday February 25th, 2012 action will get underway as gates will open at 9 am, cars entering to race must be entered by 12 pm. Drivers meeting will take place at 12 pm and hot laps and racing will follow after the drivers meeting. Super Late Models will qualify and run heat races with the top 3 from each group being locked in for the feature, the remaining cars will run heat races to determine starting position for the feature. There will be a $100 entry fee for the super late models and non qualifiers will receive $50 back. 2 Barrel Late Models will run heat races with no more than 6 cars to a heat race. All other classes will run heat races to determine starting positions for the feature event.

Admission for Saturday’s event will be $17 for General Admission and Pit Admission will be $30, Kids 12 and Under will be Free. Official 2012 WINTERFEST T-Shirts will be for sale at the track on February 25th, so be sure to pick you one up.

Due to the large volumes of calls & interest in Superstock cars planning on racing at Winterfest, we’ve adjusted the rules slightly.

 Rule #4 Engine – E. Camshaft - Hydraulic or solid. No roller. Over 480 lift add 50 lbs

H. Heads – steel only OEM Chevy Ford Chrysler or S/R. No porting, polishing, grinding, or etc. may have pinned or screw in studs and guide plates. Three angle valve job permitted. Any rocker arm and valve spring. ADD 150 lbs for Angled Plug Heads. Follow the rules link to see the complete rules for all divisions.

February 25th's Winterfest is fast approacing and as it does the 2012 Rules have been updated and posted. Please drivers and crew members review them as you prepare your cars. Details about Winterfest are being worked out and finalized to be released as soon as possible. Stay tuned to the website and messageboard for upcoming information on the Purse, Start Times, Etc.....

Also, Winchester Speedway has added a messageboard to the website, follow the FORUM button at the top of the page. On the forum, you see Track News were you'll get direct information from track personell. Also on the forum for folks to post is a Classified section for those wanting to sell items and there's a Wanted section for those looking for Items.

December 28th, 2011 - Winchester Speedway has added Super Stock and Mini Mods to the Winterfest Line up. Please see the rules for each class on the rules page, Mini Mods will need to contact Freddie Prosser at (931) 703-6143 for complete rules for this class.

December 17th, 2011 - Practice at Duck River Speedway has been changed to tomorrow Dec. 18th. Gates open at 12:00 practice begins at 1:00. Admission is $15.00.

November 18th, 2011- Winchester Speedway will host its Annual Winterfest on February 25th, 2012, details to be released at a later date. All classes will race featuring a $3000 to-win Super Late Model race. Stay tuned to the website and messageboards for additional information.

Also Duck River Speedway will have a Pre-Ice Bowl Practice on December 17th, 2011 "Weather Permitting"

October 16th, 2011- A special Thanks from Jimmy and Sharon Nowlin to all the fans, drivers and staff for supporting Winchester and Duck River Speedway this 2011 race season. Without the support of each one you, this season would have not been possible. A big thanks goes to each of the drivers that came out and supported the Tennessee SUPER SERIES this year. October 12th, 2011This weekends race purse will go as followed: Super Late Model $1000 to win, Two BBL No less than $500 to win, Mini Stock and Pure Stock $250 to win,  Outlaw Pony..based on car count. 2012 Rules Meeting will be held at 2:00 pm., Awards at 4 pm, Drivers Meeting at 5:30 and Racing Starts at 6:30 pm

October 4th, 2011- Winchester Speedway will be racing Oct.15th, 2011. Points awards will be held at the track at 4:00 pm, Drivers meeting will be at 5:30pm. Race Purse will be based on car and fan count for October 15th. There will be a discussion on the rules for 2012 regarding the Mini Stock and Pure Stock classes. If anyone is interested in starting a Modified Street Class, or a real Pure Stock class, they should attend. I will have a set of rules available for you to look over and get your input on it. Super Series point money will be awarded also .Gates open at 2:00pm. Points Award at 4 pm, Drivers Meeting at 5:30 pm Hot laps after Drivers Meeting.  Admission in grandstands $10, Pits $25, children 12 and under FREE!

September 4th, 2011- Winchester Speedway will NOT be racing on Saturday September 10th, but will return the following week on September 17th, 2011 with the SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP for all classes. 2 Barrel late models will qualify on Sept. 17th. Gates will open at 3 pm, Drivers Meeting at 6 and Racing will start at 7 pm

August 28th, 2011- Saturday September 3rd, 2011 will feature the Tennessee SUPER SERIES Super Late Models racing for 40 Laps and the $3000 To-Win Prize. Also Racing will be all support divisions. Gates open at 3, Drivers Meet at 6:30, Racing starts at 7:30 pm. General Admission $15, Pit Admission $30 and Kids 12 & Under FREE

August 22nd, 2011- Winchester Speedway will be racing Saturday August 27th, 2011 with a Full scheduled Regular Program, including the Super Late Models. There will be NO POINTS race this week for the super late models, due to a Tenn. SUPER SERIES race at another track. There will also be a Back to School Special: Grandstand Admission will be FREE for Kids 16 and Under, with a valid I.D. Gates will open at 3 pm, Drivers Meeting at 6:30 pm, Racing start at 7 pm

August 14th, 2011-  Winchester Speedway gets back to action Saturday August 20th, 2011 with a Regular Race program and we'll also behaving kids bike races.  Gates will open at 3 pm, drivers meeting at 6:30 pm, hot laps at 7 pm and racing will start at 7:30 pm.

August 7th, 2011-  Winchester Speedway will have an open practice this Thursday night August 11th, 2011 Gates will open at 5 pm and practice will start at 6:30 pm. Racing action will kick back up on Saturday August 13th, 2011 with a Regular Race program plus kids bicycle races. July 17th, 2011- Saturday July 23rd will be a Regular Scheduled program at Winchester Speedway. The Kids Bicycle Race has been rescheduled fo next weekend July 30th. Gates will open at 3 pm, drivers meeting at 5:30 pm, hot laps at 6 pm and racing will start at 6:30 pm.

July 10th, 2011- Saturday July 16th will be a Regular Scheduled program at Winchester Speedway Gates will open at 3 pm, drivers meeting at 5:30 pm, hot laps at 6 pm and racing will start at 6:30 pm.

July 3rd, 2011 - Saturday July 9th will be the Mid-Season Championship at Winchester Speedway in all divisions. Everyone come on out  and join us for some great racing

June 26th, 2011- Winchester Speedway will be closed on July 2nd, 2011. Racers and Fans are encouraged to go to Duck River Speedway on July 2nd.

June 19th, 2011- Winchester Speedway will be back in full swing Saturday June 25th with a complete regular program.

 June 13th, 2011-Winchester Speedway will take a week off from racing action on Saturday June 18th and will return on June 25th with a regular show.

May 30th, 2011- Winchester Speedway will take a week off from racing action on Saturday June 4th and will return on June 11th with a regular show.

May 23rd, 2011- SUPER SERIES Tire rule adjustment: Tires: Hoosier 1600 shoulder plate , LM 40, American Racer 56.  Rear Tires only: must punch 60 before qualifying and feature race and have id.# number. (Subject to Chemical Test ANYTIME) NO CONDIONERS OR CHEMICALS ALLOWED to treat tires.

May 22nd, 2011-  Saturday May 28th the Tennessee SUPER SERIES  will make its second appearance of three in 2011 at Winchester Speedway with a $3000 To-Win 40 lap event. On April 9th, 2011 the second event of series was held and Daniel Miller of Shelbyville, Tenn. took the victory at Winchester Speedway. Also on May 28th will be support divisions seeing racing action. Gates will open at 3 pm, drivers meeting at 5:30 pm, hot laps at 6 pm and racing will start at 6:30 pm.

May 16th, 2011 - Saturday May 21st will be a regular scheduled program at Winchester Speedway. The following week on Saturday May 28th, 2011 will be the return of the Tennessee SUPER SERIES featuring a $3000 to-win 40 lap super late model event, plus support division racing.

May 8th, 2011 - Winchester Speedway will be back in action this up-coming Saturday May 14th, 2011 with a Regular Scheduled show, along with a $500 to-win event for the Pure Stock division. Gates will open at 3 pm, Drivers Meeting at 5:30, Hot Laps at 6 and Racing will start at 6:30 pm

May 1st, 2011- Winchester Speedway will be taking a week off from action on May the 7th, due the Annual Dogwood Festival held in the city of Winchester. Winchester Speedway will return to action on May 14th, 2011 with a regular show featuring a $500 To-Win Pure Stock Show.

April 29th, 2011- The races for Saturday April 30th, 2011 is still a go with the green light. As scheduled it will be a reguler show for the night. Winchester will be closed next Saturday May 7th, 2011 due to the Annual Dogwood Festival happening in Winchester, TN. 

April 25th, 2011- Saturday April 30th, 2011 will be the scheduled event with a regular show. Next weeks scheduled event has been canceled due to the Annual Dogwood Festival taking place in Winchester. Duck River Speedway will be racing on Saturday May 7th, 2011, check back here at www.winchesterspeedway.com for an announcement for those who race at Winchester Speedway on a weekly bases and elect to travel to Duck River on May 7th.

April 19th, 2011- Extra pay for running at both Duck River Speedway and Winchester Speedway April 22nd and 23rd.  The bonus pay for running both tracks this week-end is as follows—Friday night -- Pure Stock: $250 to win, Bonus Sat. if you run Fri. 50 to start at Winchester, If you win both nights $100 bonus. Pure Pony $250 to win Friday. Bonus $50 to start Sat. at Winchester, if you run Friday. If you win both nights $100 Bonus. Super late models $1000 Friday.  Winchester-Sat. 1200 to-win. If you’ve raced at Duck River on Friday. Two barrel $600 to win  $100 bonus  if you win both nights and 50 to start Sat. if you run Fri. at the Duck. Outlaw Pony $250 to win Friday over 11 cars both nights $300 to win sat. $200 for 2nd.

April 16th, 2011- The races for April 16, 2011 have been canceled due to the weather. The next race will be Saturday April 23rd, 2011 as scheduled with a regular show.

April 12th, 2011- This up-coming Saturday night April 16th, up-for grabs will be $1200 for the Super Late Models, $300 for Street Stocks and $250 for Mini Stocks. $300 for the Outlaw Ponies, if 11 cars are in attendance. Join us this Saturday at Winchester Speedway to get your need for speed.

April 6th, 2011- Super Late model race procedure will be standard format: group qualifying (2 laps: Top 2 cars from each group locked into feature), 10 lap heat races: depending on how many groups there is will determine how many cars will be taken from heats, no provisionals. 40 LAP FEATURE

April 3rd, 2011- Saturday April 9th, 2011 will be Round #2 for the 2011 Tennessee SUPER SERIES at Winchester Speedway paying $3000 to-win for super late models. NO Superstocks will be running this week. Come out to Winchester Speedway and enjoy some high speed action

March 27th, 2011- Saturday April 2nd, 2011 will be the Grand Opening for 2011 season at Winchester Speedway. It will feature a $1200 To-Win Super late model event, along with all regular divisions on the line-up to compete in door-to-door action. Classes featured will be: Super Late Models, 2 Barrel Late Models, Economy 2 Barrel Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Outlaw Pony, and Mini Stocks.

SUPER STOCK: Rule Amendment: Due to low car counts; the minimum weight will be reduced from 2900 LBS to 2700 LBS.

March 22nd, 2011- This upcoming Friday March 25th, there will be an open practice for everyone who wants to come out and test. Gates open at 5 p.m. and practice will start at 6:30 p.m. and run til 9:30. p.m..

 Winchester Speedway is under the mangement of Shelbyville, TN's Mr. Jimmy Nowlin. Mr. Nowlin took over at Winchester Speedway in the middle portion of 2010, after the track took a couple year hiatus from opening its gates for racing. Fans of Winchester Speedway were delighted to see the track back open for business, as well as having one of their own well known business men and  racer operating the speedway.

During 2011 at Winchester Speedway the competition will be full & fierce, as Mr. Nowlin has put together a full scheduled season for the racers and fans. Major events happening at Winchester in 2011 are 3 scheduled SUPER SERIES events paying $3000 To-Win for the super late models, specials for supporting divisions and events for the fans to participate in.

Winchester has already had one race in the books for 2011 with its Annual Winterfest held on February 19th, 2011. With the pits packed with cars and the stands full of fans on a rare warm day in February, Winchester looked like the days of old.
